Performing Ensembles at UTPB

MUEN – 1121.001:  University Choir with Gregory Pysh (gpysh@fpcmid.org) 
Meets Tuesdays at 7pm in MUSH and Thursdays at 9:30am in MUSH
The University Choir is the primary choral ensemble at UTPB. The mission of the ensemble is to 
present a wide variety of music representing the utmost quality in performance practice and stylistic guidelines from music history.  

MUEN – 1122.001:  Falcon Flock with Dr. Keast (keast_d@utpb.edu) 
Meets Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 4pm in MUSH
The Falcon Flock is also the Falcon Wind Ensemble that performs at commencements, convocations, several athletic events, and community service programs such as Empty Bowls and the Odessa Teddy Bear Patrol.

MUEN – 1123.501:  University Strings with Dr. Hohstadt (tomhohstadt@sbcglobal.net) 
Meets Tuesdays at 7:15pm in Library Lecture Hall #001
The University Strings is our main string group on campus and performs standard orchestra literature.

MUEN – 1124.502:  Chamber Strings with Nyela Basney (basney_n@utpb.edu)  
Meets in MUSH and rehearses at times convenient to the performers' weekly schedules
The Chamber Strings is a group of advanced violin, viola, cello, and bass players performing small ensemble works, such as trios, quartets, and duets.
 
MUEN – 1123.502:  Vocal Ensemble with Gregory Pysh (gpysh@fpcmid.org)
Meets Tuesday evenings at 8pm in MUSH
The Vocal Ensemble is a group of advanced singers performing Broadway and other musical theatre selections.
 
MUEN – 1123.502:  Percussion Ensemble with Jimmy Olague (drumtooth@grandecom.net)
Meets in MUSH and rehearses at times convenient to the performers' weekly schedules
The Percussion Ensemble is a group of students that currently play a percussion instrument AND those desiring to learn a bit about percussion.

Meets in MUSH and rehearses at times convenient to the performers' weekly schedules
The Guitar Ensemble is a group of students major in guitar AND those just learning how to play.
 
MUEN 1123.502:  Jazz Combo with Eric Baker (ebtrumpet@yahoo.com)
Meets Thursdays at 7pm in MUSH
The Jazz Combo is a group of students learning to perform using Real Books.
 
MUEN 1123.502:  Low Brass Ensemble with Kevin Young (kevinyoungtx@suddenlink.net)
Meets in MUSH and rehearses at times convenient to the performers' weekly schedules
The Low Brass Ensemble is a group of students desiring to play their trombone, euphonium, or tuba in a small group setting.
