Faculty advisors are assigned to students when they are admitted to The University. The advisor is selected from the faculty of the student's chosen major. If a student cannot remember the advisor's name, the student can consult the Academic Advising Office.
If a student intends to acquire his/her teaching certification along with a degree, two advisors are assigned. One advisor is a faculty member from the chosen major, the other advisor is a certification advisor assigned by the Education Certification Office. It is the student's responsibility to contact the advisor. Advisors do not establish initial contact with students.
There is no "quick" degree. All degrees require a student to complete a minimum of 120 semester credit hours with at least 54 of those semester credit hours completed at the upper level.
3. What's the easiest degree I can get?
There is no "easy" degree; a subject that is easy for one student may be difficult for another student.
Fill out a Change of Major/Advisor form which is available in the Academic Advising Office. An advisor will be assigned to you, and you will receive a letter with the new faculty advisor's name, office number, phone number, and office hours if available. It is your responsibility to contact your new advisor.
Yes. Fill out a Change of Major/Advisor form and a different faculty advisor will be assigned to you.
There is no maximum number of hours you can transfer into this school. However, you will have to meet all the criteria the University requires to earn a degree.
Ds earned in any general education required course, a major course, or a minor course will not transfer into the University. Only Ds earned in free electives will transfer.
The University accepts up to 15 semester credit hours of correspondence courses of which no more than 6 semester credit hours can be taken in the major. However, all students are advised to get permission from their faculty advisor before signing up for ANY correspondence course. The School of Business does not accept the transfer of any upper level business courses taken by correspondence.
All of the above questions are more appropriately answered by your faculty advisor and/or the Academic Advisor because each student's record is unique.
